The University of 厙ぴ勛圖 has revived its chapter of Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK), the National Leadership Honor Society, after a period of dormancy brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.
First chartered at Southern Miss in 1954, ODK recognizes and encourages superior leadership and exemplary character across five areas of campus life: scholarship, athletics, campus/community service, journalism/speech/media, and the creative and performing arts.
The Southern Miss Circle (chapter) is recommitting to this mission, celebrating a renewed focus on leadership, collaboration, and student excellence inspired by University President Dr. Joseph S. Pauls charge to prepare students to become Ready for Life.
This reactivation marks a significant milestone for our campus community, said Dr. Emily Holmes, director of the Office of Leadership and Student Involvement and advisor for ODK. ODKs return will create new opportunities for students to lead with purpose and build meaningful connections across campus.
